The Safety Committee has created a phone tree for neighbors to print out and utilize to start addressing neighborhood concerns! Click here for a printer friendly version of the phone tree.
A phone tree provides a support group of friends and neighbors willing to help in response to specific problems and situations that we all face at one time or another. Several calls from concerned neighbors can sometimes get more prompt attention — as we have often been told “the squeaky wheel gets the grease.”
The phone tree can also be a useful way for neighbors keep in touch with one another in case of an emergency or for information, if needed.
It is simple to get started!
1.
Print out a copy of the phone tree.
2. Talk with your neighbors* about being included and helping to resolve nusiance problems.
3.
Once your neighbors agree to participate, collect their name and phone number and insert it on the phone tree.
4.
After you have finished contacting your neighbors, and filled in the phone tree provide a copy to everyone involved.
5. When you notice a nusiance problem, report it!
6. Call the two people "above" you on the phone tree. Make sure you explain the problem and provide any information they will need to report it (such as location, description of house/car/person, etc.). Those you called should report it and contact those "above" them on the tree and so on.
* We suggest talking with neighbors who live on your block or share your alley, as you will likely have concerns about the same nusiances problems.
