The mission of Community Homebuyers Corporation (CHC) is to provide affordable mortgage opportunities and knowledge on how to be successful homeowners to low and moderate income residents of St. Joseph County with emphasis upon providing housing opportunities within the city limits of South Bend.

Counseling from the City of South Bend

The City of South Bend has been approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a Local Housing Counseling Agency. The following types of housing counseling are sometimes offered:

  1. Pre-Purchase Counseling
  2. Mortgage Delinquency & Default Resolution Counseling
  3. Non-Delinquency Post Purchase Workshops for Homeowners
  4. Pre-Purchase Homebuyer Education Workshops

Additionally, the City participates in the Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network (IFPN).
